Biography
Alh. Prince Olaniyi Semiyu Adegbite is an accomplished accountant and tax practitioner with nearly three decades of professional experience. His career began in 1995 following his youth service with a brief engagement at the local audit firm Ife Iji & Co. He later joined Olusola Adekanola & Co in 1997, where he further developed his expertise. After resigning from this position, he partnered with Kunle Akiode & Co in 2000 following his professional qualification, serving as the tax partner under the mentorship of Mr. Philip Akiode. In the mid-2000s, he co-founded Olaniyi Adegbite & Co / Kefatos Consultants, establishing a firm specializing in tax practice nationwide. Alh. Adegbite holds an accounting degree from the University of Ilorin and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Ado Ekiti, supplemented by various professional certifications from both domestic and international institutions. He holds the distinction of being among the first cohort of licensed tax practitioners certified by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. His professional affiliations include membership in the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered), Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria, and Information System Audit and Control Association, among others. He has completed leadership training programs at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and ACCA, UK, earning certifications from both institutions. Additionally, he holds a Doctorate in Human Resources Management. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous taxation seminars, training programs, and conferences both within Nigeria and internationally. As a mentor in his profession, Alh. Adegbite has trained numerous chartered accountants and tax practitioners who have achieved significant growth in their respective careers. His charitable contributions include sponsoring and supporting young accountants preparing for ATS examinations through the NASFAT-ICAN 'catch them young' program and other initiatives. He has also covered WAEC fees for vulnerable students in the Ibadan South West and South East Local Government Areas. He has made meaningful contributions to the Institute's CITN student quiz competitions over the years. Today, Olaniyi Adegbite & Co holds a respected position in the industry, managing taxation matters for numerous companies to their clients' satisfaction. To further enhance the firm's practice, Alh. Adegbite constructed a six-story office building, dedicating an entire floor to training, conferences, and seminars. He served as an adviser to the Lagos Inland Revenue Service alongside colleagues, contributing to the simplification of Form H1 for annual returns—reducing it from six pages to two pages for easier filing. Beyond his professional practice, he is an astute businessman with interests in real estate, marketing, distribution, and haulage businesses. He enjoys golf as a leisure activity and is married with children.
